1. A MAN NAMED HUGH WILLIAMS
On December 5, 1664, the first in the greatest series of coincidences in history took place. On this date, a ship carrying 81 passengers sank in the Menai strait, off North Wales. There was one survivor - a man by the name of Hugh Williams. On the same date in 1785, a ship sank with 60 passengers aboard. There was again one survivor - a man named Hugh Williams. Again on the very same date in 1860, a ship sank with 25 passengers and again there was a lone survivor - it was a man named Hugh Williams. This incredible coincidence is listed as one of the 15 Favorite Oddities of All Time in Irving and David Wallance's "The People Almanac".

2. THE LINCOLN-KENNEDY CONNECTION
The life and death of U.S. Presidents Abraham Lincoln and John Fitzgerald Kennedy have a very uncanny parallelism:
*** Abraham Lincoln was elected president in 1860, exactly 14 years after he was elected to the U.S. Congress. John F. Kennedy was elected president in 1960, exactly 14 years after his first election to Congress. Kennedy became president 100 years after Lincoln.
*** Both presidents were deeply involved in civil right for the Negroes.
*** Both had radical views and had attempted to establish a new American socio-political system.
*** Both attracted wide publicities and possessed incredible public appeal.
*** Lincoln worked to attain American peace and tried to prevent a civil war. He first rejected a compromise with the Confederacy but later appealed for new talks. Kennedy worked
to attain world peace and to prevent a world war. He also earlier rejected a compromise with Khrushchev about the missiles in Cuba but later modified his views.
*** Both during these intense times each pleaded for patience among their countrymen saying almost identical statements which goes more or less like "...beyond what may be necessary for our objectives, there will be no invasion - no using of force against or among the people anywhere."
*** Both presidents were assassinated on a Friday, in the presence of their wives. Prior to the assassination, they both had premonitions of the tragedy.
*** Both their wives had lost a son while living in the White House.
*** Both were killed by a bullet that entered the head from behind and died with their wives sitting at their sides.
*** Lincoln was killed in Ford's theater. Kennedy met his fate while riding a Lincoln continental made by the Ford Motor Company.
*** John Wilkes Booth, Lincoln's assassin has 15 letters on his name while Lee Harvey Oswald, Kennedy's assassin also has 15 letters on his name.
*** John Booth was born in 1839 and Oswald was born in 1939. One hundred years after.
*** Both assassins were Southerners who held extremist views.
*** Booth shot Lincoln in a theater and fled to a barn, while Oswald shot Kennedy from a warehouse and fled to a theater.
*** Both assassins were murdered before they could be brought to trial.
*** Both Lincoln and Kennedy were succeeded by vice presidents named Johnson.
*** Both vice presidents were Southern Democrats and former senators.
*** Andrew Johnson was born in 1808 and Lyndon Johnson was born in 1908.
*** The names Andrew and Lyndon both have 6 letters.
*** President Lincoln's personal secretary was someone named John who reportedly belong to the Kennedy's ancestral family tree, while president Kennedy's personal secretary was named Evelyn Lincoln. Both secretary warned them about something dangerous if they would went to the places they were assassinated.
*** Both U.S. presidents were greatly admired, beloved and remembered by the American people more than any other presidents long after their deaths.

3. HENRY ZIEGLAND: A CASE OF RETRIBUTION?
The case of Henry Ziegland of HoneyGrove, Texas is an ultimate puzzler. He jilted his sweetheart who then committed suicide. Her brother tried to avenge her by shooting Ziegland but the bullet only grazed his face and buried itself in a tree. The brother, believing he had killed Ziegland then took his own life. In 1913 (30 years after the incident), Ziegland was cutting down the same tree. It was quite a difficult job, so he used dynamites. The explosion sent the old bullet through Zieglands' head entering in the grazed mark in his face in the spot where it failed to kill him before. This time the bullet killed him.

4. FRATERNAL DISASTER
Two brothers in Bermuda were victims of incredibly similar disaster. Erskine Lawrence Ebbin and his brother Neville were both killed by the same taxi and driver, carrying the same passengers, while they were riding the same moped on the same street. But the events occurred exactly a year apart. Curiously, however, they were both 17 years old when they died.

5. NOSTRADAMUS' SECRET PLAQUE
Michel de Notredame or better known in his Latin name Nostradamus foretold many events in history including the lives and deaths of famous world personalities hundreds of years before his time. When Nostradamus died in 1566, he secretly had a metal plaque to be buried with him. When his grave was opened in 1700, the metal plaque was found lying in his skeleton. It read: "1700".

6. MEETING OF THE IDENTICAL TWINS
James Lews and James Springer of Lima and Dayton, Ohio, respectively are identical twins who were separated shortly after birth. Their adoptive parents - who had no knowledge of each other - named each of them James. Each James married and divorced a woman named Linda. Each named his first son James Alan (Allan). Each likes to vacation on the same Florida Beach. Both are 6 feet tall, weigh 180 lbs., have the same hobbies, and have had police training. They met for the first time in 1979, when they were 39 years old.

7. TALES OF FALLING BABIES
In the spring of 1975, Joseph Figlock was walking down a street in Detroit when a baby feel on him from a high window. By a struck of coincidence, it happened again exactly a year after. Mr. Figlock and both babies survived. It is either an incredible case of coincidence or Figlock must have a very strong magnet for falling babies.

8. THE 13TH COINCIDENCE
It is said that 13 is an unlucky number. Some people morbidly fear the number 13, the fear is known as "Triskaidekaphobia". Austrian composer Arnold Schonberg's lifelong fascination with numerology led to his morbid obsession with the number 13. Born on September 13, 1784, he believed that 13 would play an important role in his death. Because the number 7 and 6 add up to 13, he was convinced that his 76th year would be the decisive one. Even worse, checking the calendar for 1951 he saw to his horror that July 13 fell on a Friday, a traditional harbinger of bad luck. That day Schonberg remained in bed, firmly believing that his end would come soon. The day passed uneventfully, however, late that night his wife visited his bedroom to reassure him he was wrong. When she entered the room, Schonberg uttered the word "harmony" and expired at about 11:47 p.m., 13 minutes before midnight on Friday, July 13, on his 76th year.

9. THE ENDURING WITNESS
Do you believe in jinx? Robert Todd Lincoln, eldest son of President Abraham Lincoln, was present immediately after his father was assassinated in 1865, also after President Garfield's assassination in 1881 and also when President McKinley was shot in 1901. Robert Lincoln would have probably wished that he was not there, but then it would not have been a coincidence.

10. THE SINKING OF THE TITANIC
The sinking of the Titanic was predicted 14 years before it happened. Novelist Morgan Robertson vividly wrote the incident with incredible precision in his book entitled "The Wreck of the Titan:. He did not know during that time that he was making one of the greatest predictions of all time. Comparing Robertson fictional story of the "Titan" and the actual news stories of the tragedy of the Titanic in 1912 reveals startling similarities: *** Both the fictional "Titan" and the real-life Titanic were ontheir maiden voyage.
*** Both were British-made luxury liners.
*** Both were regarded as the largest ship ever built.
*** Both were supposedly unsinkable and safest ship afloat.
*** Both collided with an iceberg in the North Atlantic.
*** Both disasters happened in the month of April.
*** The Titan hit the iceberg at 25 knots while the Titanic were at 23 knots.
*** The displacement tonnage of the Titan and the Titanic were 75,000 and 66,000 tons respectively.
*** The length of the Titan was 800 feet while the Titanic was
882.5 feet.
*** Titan had 19 watertight compartments compared to 16 of the Titanic.
*** Both had three propellers.
*** Titan had 24 lifeboats while the Titanic had 22.
*** Both ships had some VIPS on board.
*** There were 3,000 persons aboard the Titan while the Titanic had a total of 2,224 passengers.
*** Both disaster, fictional and real, incurred an enormous loss of life and personal wealth.
Coincidentally, one of the fatalities of the Titanic disaster was William Stead, an English author and editor. Nine months before the incident, British Clairvoyant Louis Hamon warned him not to travel by water.

11. THE DREAM THAT HAPPENED
David Booth, a man from Cincinnati, Ohio, dreamt of an airplane crash ten times from May 15-24, 1979. On May 19, he called the local Federal Aviation Agency (FAA) to warn them of a possible impending disaster. But he had no date of flight time, so there was nothing the FAA could do. On May 25, 1979 when Booth arrived home from work, he turned on the TV to hear the broadcast that an American Airlines Flight 191, bound for Los Angeles from Chicago's O'Hara Airport crashed shortly after takeoff killing all its 271 passengers. The DC-10 crash was the worst domestic air disaster in U.S. Flight history. Later when asked what action they would take if told of an impending plane crash, a public relations man from one of the major U.S. airlines replied, "Absolutely nothing. I'd ignore it. We discount the occult here. It goes against everything scientific and logical to even discuss such a damn thing".
